Building A WAN Network.
WAN Network stands for Wide Area Network. This computer uses wide areas networks with routers and public communication links. The Internet is the largest well known WAN Network. Wide Area Networks are used to connect the little networks such as Local Area Networks (LAN) and other types of networks together. This makes it possible for computers all over the world to connect with each other. There are many WAN that are built for one particular company or person and others are built for Internet Service Providers or ISPs. There are a couple different ways to build a WAN Network. Some will use a leased line, which can be very expensive. There is also circuit switching or packet switching that can be used. Wide Area Networks are broken down into Mathematical models, network emulation and simulation. The line considered most secure is the leased line but also very expensive. Circuit switching, better know to some as dial up is less expensive but as we all know has it drawbacks. The cell relay is considered the best for voice and data but the overhead can be very expensive. As we have figured out some lines are faster than others are.
Well with all this technology and the language involved in LAN, WAN network, WiFi and so on, I am sure that many of us are completely lost. One thing is for sure, the world of technology and wireless communications has become part of daily life for running businesses, cell phones, hand held devices, game consoles and other devices, which we have come to depend on. It used to be the medical world that started much of the technology with its labs and research facilities. Now everywhere you look most everyone seems to have some kind of device such as cell phones. Now schools are teaching computers and many have computer labs to learn from. From the cell phone to hand held scanners, right up to the world of the internet the technology world shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. When using WAN Network and other technical gadgets there are always risks. Your equipment may have security features built in. Utilize those features. There are hackers, Identity thieves, viruses and crashes that can happen to your and your equipment. Keep your information protected at all times. Make sure you password protect your devices when you set them down. Keep the tech support numbers near by in case of problems, questions or trouble. Always make sure your back up system is up to date and your security is enabled. |
